When I think of a revolution, I think of tumultuous change, individual action and transformation. One such revolution that fundamentally changed Western society was the Industrial Revolution that took place in the 19th Century.

Urbanisation grew rapidly as rural farming and agrarian practices became outmoded by machine and technological advancement. Progress in scientific knowledge became exciting and threatening and electricity became a dominant and practical tool. With these advancements came mass production and manufactured goods, as numerous factories opened providing more job opportunities.

How, in any way, does this link to Rice Revolution?

When Jesus commanded his disciples to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations, the world would face rapid change, as “the way” (aka Christianity) would revolutionise governments, societies and whole nations. Two thousand years later and this revolution continues. Like the Industrial Revolution where people flocked to city centres, after losing their jobs to machinery, Christians lose their old sinful self and flock to Christ’s body, his church, his community. It seems crazy that millions of people around the world still follow one man who claimed to be the Son of God. But this is a testament to the revolution we are a part of.

This Saturday, we will meet to praise and glorify his name because we are part of the Jesus Revolution. We will come into his presence, to seek revival for our schools, our churches and our city.
You and I need to be proactive. We come into contact with so many people who do not personally know Jesus. We need to prepare our hearts and patiently let God do his thing, let the Holy Spirit be like electricity surging through not light bulbs but through our hearts, that he might rebuke, encourage and constantly point us to Jesus. There are so students like you who are ready to see a revival.

Are you on fire for God? For Jesus?

Come, Lord Jesus, come, we cry. Are you ready?

- Daniel
