Revolution Conference in less than 7 days. What are you expecting?
As I look back into the earlier times of planning for the Conference, I remember speaking with Adrian about what we expect out of the Conference. This expectance is not from the music that will be played, not from the message that will be preached, not from the lighting that will create the atmosphere, but expectance of what God is going to do in each individual’s lives.
Therefore let me ask this again, what are you expecting? Are you expecting Revolution Conference to be just another Conference that you attend every year, where you get to meet new people, jump around to some great music and hearing God’s word? If you are, you will be more than satisfied with what the team has done so far. You will walk out of the theatre smiling because all your expectations would have been met. We’ve got a bigger venue, special guest singers, extravagant sound and lighting, and a great speaker. These are all good, that’s why we’ve arranged them in the first place! But are these things all that you want?
Are all these things all you expect, or are you searching for something bigger than all that? Are you looking for a rush of excitement and getting pumped up to go back into your schools to spread this excitement, or are you looking for more?
As the lights slowly dim out into the darkness and the music fading in, are you going to sing a song, or are you going to praise our Almighty God? As our speaker walks up the stage of preach the word of God are you going to hear the word, or are you going to listen intently, and look deeper into His word? As we break into groups to pray are you going to through your regular prayer routine and saying all the right words, or are you going to desperately pour your heart out to ask God for bring a revival not only to your schools, but to this hungry generation?
Are you expecting the spirit of God to bring a change in your lives? Are you expecting to be so overwhelmed by God’s love and grace that you cannot help but to tell your friends that they are missing out on so much in life? Will you walk out of the theatre smiling because you have had a good dose of God’s word, or will you walk out shaking and worried because you have realized that there is so much more that needs to be done in God’s kingdom?
So which are you, what will you be content with? The Revolution team is working hard everyday to make sure that most of your expectations will be met, but if you are one who is seeking for God’s amazing work to take place, you have to be ready.
If you are one who is seeking for more, start praying.
Pray for the Conference and that God will guide every single step we take. More importantly, pray that God will work in the hearts of each delegate who will be there. Pray that God will open their hearts to the word, that they will ENCOUNTER God in a very significant way.
