I’m not sure what you feel about being a Christian at school. Is it worth it? Is it difficult? Is it confusing?

This is how I remember it:

Going to a school with a Christian group that had fewer people than the fingers on my hands was hard.
Going to a Christian group where all my friends were outside enjoying themselves was hard.
Going to a Christian group where it just felt so hard to encourage and spur one another on.

So how do so few of us reach out to the hundreds that attend our school?

There is no doubt that school ministry is tough and I want to share that there are hundreds who are in the same position as you.

So this year, RICE Revolution is introducing Zones. We're envisioning Zones to be a gathering of high school students wanting to be involved, strengthen or even start up Christian groups in their schools! As a gathering of people from schools in regional areas across Sydney, we want Zones to be a place of encouragement that provides networking opportunities, grows your personal relationship with Jesus and that transforms your Christian group. It's a pretty big vision. We want you to be a part of it.

Only two Fridays ago we launched our first Zone in the CBD! God blessed the afternoon as he gathered over 40 student leaders across 7 different schools. Allister Lum Mow, the guest trainer, challenged those in the room about what it meant to be a Bible Study Leader and how to write a Bible Study passage in any context. Check out some of the pics posted!

If you’re reading this blog post and in high school, this is also an official invite to the next Zones Meeting held this Friday. All details are on this link http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=129851080364910 and remember to RSVP.

More Zones info will be revealed at RICE Revolution Conference 2010. So see you all there!
